The Apurva Kempinski Bali

The Apurva Kempinski Bali has their weekly brunch every Sunday afternoon at Pala Restaurant. This Sunday Brunchcation is set in the midst of a long pool within the main gardens, presenting live cooking stations with extensive array of local and international cuisines. On 14th and 21st of May 2023, our students from The Apurva Chef program has the privilege to be the part of this special dining fiesta. Chefs from all The Apurva Kempinski Bali’s restaurants collaborated together with all of our students for Sunday Brunchcation, delivering an exceptional dining experience.


Taken place at the heart of the resort, it offers a full-day experience including international cheese counter, grill station, a variety of sushi and sashimi, seafood, bread, full array of desserts, and other Indonesian and international cuisines. Bali Culinary Pastry School Student’s have the chance to make several dishes and showcased their cooking skills they learned during their internship program. This industry experience started since January 2023, when the students have had completed their six months study at our school.

We had the chance to discuss about this event with Chef Iswati Endah Perwitosari as the Executive Sous Chef at The Apurva Kempinski Bali. “Bali Culinary Pastry School’s student has a strong desire to learn. Additionally, they have a lot of questions and never give up on every challenges. That makes it simpler for us to impart new knowledge. Because we work together on daily basis and they perform well as a team, we entrusted them to do a collaboration at Sunday Brunch”, she said enthusiastically. Chef Endah explained that the student given this opportunity to increase their self-confidence to sell the cuisine publicly. “I hope that interns will learn more eagerly for their future endeavours as knowledge in culinary never expires, it always evolves. As a Chef, we have be more attentive to hone our skills for more difficult challenges ahead.”


The Apurva Kempinski Bali and Bali Culinary Pastry School collaborated exclusively to create the Apurva Chef program. Young Indonesian culinary artists’ skills and expertise were to be developed as a result. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the abilities they will need to excel in the international tourism industry.

Students in the Apurva Chef Program commit to a 12-month commitment, spending six months in school and six months internship at The Apurva Kempinski Bali. From the start of the hiring process to the students’ final projects, we work together on the training. Together, the school and the hotel review the learning process at various points in the process to maximize the learning opportunities for the student.

The chance for students to obtain practical experience in the hospitality business is one of the key benefits of this partnership. Through this program, students may be able to participate in internship and job shadowing programs, observing and learning from the experts in the industry. Those interested in working in the hotel industry can learn about the field practically through this experience, which can be extremely beneficial. Additionally, students can learn about several facets of the hospitality sector, including hotel management, marketing, and event organizing.

Through this program, you will gain access to professionals in your field who can advise you on potential career pathways and possibilities.
